Octavia believes that jewellery deserves more than to sit unworn in a safe or jewellery box so often breathes new life into little worn pieces by remodelling them.

This can involve a complete redesign around original stones to just simply tweaking the current design to give it a new lease of life.  Where possible the existing metal can be used in the new design to retain as much sentimental value as possible.

Remodelling a piece is a really special way to enjoy wearing a sentimental piece in a style that suits the new owner.

The Process.

Step One

In an initial meeting we will look at the old piece(s) and stones and discuss the brief for the redesign – including, budget, style, timeline etc.

Step Two

Once the brief is confirmed and there is a clear direction, we will do initial hand drawn designs, and tweak until we have the perfect design.

Step Three

A CAD (computer aided design) is drawn up to give a 3D view of the design, for final sign off.

Step Four

The old piece(s) and the new design, with any new stones, go into the workshop, ready to be transformed. This usually takes 4-10 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design.

Step Five

Once the raw mount is made, if possible we love the client to try it on for size and fit. It is much easier to make any alterations at this point, before the stones are set. Once confirmed, it goes back to the workshop for the stones to be set and the piece to be finished.

Step Six

The piece is finally polished and finished, then it is ready to go back to the client once it’s wrapped in our OJ packaging.
